well I have been absent from the Hamb for quite some time. I did a search regarding the 2020 glory days event. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the scene last year. Who all is going? What have you heard about covid19 procedures ? What are you bringing? Let’s hear who’s doors your gonna blow off! If there is no other thread on this then let this be the official go to spot for correspondence, info and general smack talk!
Good deal! Sorry we weren’t able to make George rays Things get in the way ya know. Just set the engine back in the falcon after some upgrades. Hope to fire it up this week. Look forward to seeing your coupe run and burn my eyes
...go to the track's website ...byrondragway.com....they have this year's schedule and info on specifics...they've been runnin test n tune weekends and last weekend they had a big bracket race...I'm lookin forward to the event...one of my favorites .
Im not a doctor but I play one on TV. My professional opinion is race fuel fumes kill covid, its all good. I may have to check this out, I'm a little over an hour away and havent been to Byron in 10 years (oh yeah, my oldest kid is 9 years old)
...some of the guys in my car club help run the swapmeet,...there will be a swapmeet, if you're swapping, once you pay your daily admission at the gate the swap is free to set up and sell your stuff...the swap is pretty big with a good ***ortment of stuff, seems to get bigger every year.
I’m in. I don’t have a race car but my son and I drive a HotRod and camp. It’s our Father/Son weekend. Pic from 2017
Fresh mill is running. Sounds goood!! Gotta get a driveshaft built now. Let’s hear from some of our meltdown buddies- TICKETY BOO / SALTFLATS/ POWERSHIFTER/ WRENCHBENDER you guys makin the scene??
In the past, we’ve come up to the Meltdown and now Glory Days for just a day to spectate. This year I thought I’d like to drag the camper trailer along and stay for the whole weekend. Does anyone know details of spectator camping?
I plan on Swapmeet Friday maybe Saturday. Watching racing. Track was up and running this last week like normal. Can’t wait
I'll be there with my 55. Two of my older brothers and one of my nephews will be there, too. All together, we'll have two 55 Chevys, a 57 BelAir Sport Sedan, and a 59 Impala.
Sorry, we're a little slow to discover The H.A.M.B. But better late than never. There has been some confusion about this year's event and understandably so, given the confusion surrounding just about everything in 2020. The Glory Days Vintage Drag Race, Car Show & Swap Meet are on as scheduled for July 17-19, 2020. We have been "quietly" and carefully operating our race track since Memorial Day weekend. Because everyone's comfort and well-being is our highest priority, we have been operating under guidelines that can be found here: http://byrondragway.com/protocol It's hard for us to keep up with the number of inquiries we receive across all of the different communication platforms, websites, forums, apps, etc... We will do better to keep a close eye on The H.A.M.B. but we always encourage you to give the track a good old fashion phone call at 815-391-0000 for the quickest answer to your questions!
I drove by the track, last week, kicking myself for not planning better and missing it. I hope everyone has a blast.
Buetsch Racing gonna be there with 3 Entries... New is the HeMi Powered Nash Metropolitan sneak peak... [emoji102] Sent from my LM-Q720 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Reminds me of "No Big Thing" if any of you are familiar with it. Ran at US 30 in Indiana in the '60s. I think it was a Vespa or Fiat???
