And since we got rained out we checked out Wendover Air Base. If you know your history then you know how big of a deal this place is.
Some of the best looking early Fords on the planet. Gr8 photos/killer hot rods—-very nice work and really representative of what lots of folks would love to generate and have fun with!!!
What straight six? It looks good, but I wonder if the engine below has any crossfiring due to induction in the tightly bound parallel plug wires?
That is a Rocket Model 428 Dual plug head on a 4 cylinder Ford banger. If you zoom in on the manifold side of the head between cylinders 1 and 2 you can see the Rocket logo casting. https://www.secretsofspeed.com/rocket-428-images
Thanks you for posting. Looking at the pics is sort of bitter sweet. Hitting the Nugget at the end of the day and taking in all the fabulous rides. A couple of friends that I went with or used to meet up with there have passed on. Enjoy the pics, especially of Wendover Field. I guess that's were they did the training prior to dropping the big one. Sort of nostalgic too. My father was a bombardier on a B17 in the European theater.
This is a the silent beast in the Beauty that is Bonneville...no mercy and under wet or humid conditions...even more intrusive...El Mirage is the extreme opposite but also hard on the Participants and their vehicles... @Hot Rod Ron...that was a great postive spin on the unfortunate loss of the Speed Trials...
