If you hadn`t been there in a couple years, you can see they built a Northern Tools in the lot between the host hotel (LaQuinta) and the Holiday Inn. It came in handy when you (I) needed parts and tools to fix things. A ground wire and wire crimpers. I already had the electrical connectors bought back in Iowa when replacing the alternator. My cheapo wire terminal tool didn`t make the grade. IMG_0224.jpeg B IMG_0089.jpeg IMG_0091.jpeg

Saw this at the Kansas City World of Wheels about 3 times. He found it in a junkyard already customized. It is pro-streeted with a tilt front end. And modern wheels. It`s Kevin`s show and he makes the final decision. It keeps us wondering. I remember seeing the car with more of a level stance and different wheels. IMG_0191.jpeg IMG_0190.jpeg

Kevin told me he did not realize the car was tubbed/pro street when he invited it because it was hidden by the fender skirts... really should not have been there but... oh well

I got a sales call today and call from a law firm yeaterday. And a text from pretty litter everyday. And a few wanting me to test drive a Focus. Three days after I got my phone, I dropped it and broke the screen. Two 120 mile trips, and it`s fixed. My protective cover hadn`t came in yet .

Danny drove this from California. He also has ca custom pickup. He is a KKOA Hall Of Famer and has driven one of his customs to this show multiple times. He is a regular in Salina for the KKOA show as well. A true Diehard. He is also a longtime member of the Auto Butchers as well. IMG_0201.jpeg IMG_0200.jpeg

If you look at the coverage from other web sites and threads on the HAMB. The parking lot looked sparse. The actual show happens on Saturday. People started arriving on Wednesday. I arrive on Thursday. Friday is the Bus trip to a destination of interest. This year was to a master metal workers shop and then a place to eat. There is lots to do in Indy like touring the Indy 5oo Raceway or going downtown and seeing all the war memorials. They have a neat downtown river walk as well. Here is Kevin`s Gold Top Riv. He has a set of big wheels he changes out on the car every so often.

Going to a show with 5000 cars is neat. But you would have to cover the whole ground just to see a handful of customs. But if you wanna see Customs, this is the show for you. A lot less walking. And free to view the cars. Another shoebox similar to the one from Texas. Very similar. IMG_0318.jpeg IMG_0319.jpeg

IMG_0470.jpeg A Merc from Indiana. With Customs, they are all different. When I arrived Thurday in Indy I went straight to the car wash, a short distance from the show. Knowing my battery was overcharging, now knowing by a bad ground wire. So, A no start. I swapped (one of 2) the battery from the trunk to the front. It cranked and started, off to the hotel and parked in the front parking lot. Popped on my extra hubcap and was ready for the weekend. 5758183 IMG_0469.jpeg

You guys should know who Scott is. He attended the 1982 Leadsleds in Des Moines Iowa when he was 15. He had this car there. He would cruise the grounds of the early Leadsled Spectaculars with 2 good look`in chics in the front seat with him. It made you wanna get a custom. He had Candy cane there Saturday.
