I caught some of the Beatnik`s as they were leaving. I guess I talk too much as I missed out on seeing some of the cars during the weekend. IMG_0912.jpeg IMG_0910.jpeg IMG_0907.jpeg

Rob Lee from the South Omaha Turds boy Alex was there. I believe this is his daily driver. He also has a 40 Merc sedan he is working on. I won`t post his dads Model A as it is not a custom. IMG_0920.jpeg Bump

Dennis sold the Buick already. I think we’ll continue to see a lot of it.

IMG_0898.jpeg Here is a horrible shot of a pretty cool Chevy as it was also leaving. I have better pic`s of it from the Lead Ain`t Dead show in 2022. You can see Alex`s pick-up in the background. There is a Merc to the right I didn`t get a picture of either. EEERRR. This was on Saturday; I was on the grounds until 6:00. It`s hot in Salina. But there is a nice breeze that blows thru the park. With shade trees. If you look in the background shots, lots of people are sitting in chairs. Relaxing.

You seldom see 41 Mercury`s. This one is from Lincoln Nebraska. Beside it is a shortened Dodge van with 2 axles in the back. IMG_0894.jpeg IMG_0895.jpeg

Most threads on shows last a couple weeks. I thought I`d show why I go every year. I think it has been held in Salina for 23 years. I`ve been to everyone with a car. My Dad has missed 3. And only 1 without a car. Just ignore all the off topic cars in the background and only focus on the customs. IMG_0892.jpeg IMG_0893.jpeg

  20. The white '58 Biscayne reminds me of our family sedan that I drag raced while in high school in the early 1960's.

Should have taken what was written on the paper on the windshield. See the optical illusion on the driver`s headlight. IMG_0887.jpeg

  22. ^^^^ This is KKOA Colorado Colonel Frank Lund's latest. Cool ride! E

  23. Built by Ian Roussel on the show "Full Custom Garage".

    Frank added the scallops.

This was my favorite kustom at this years show. I had a good conversation with the owner/builder. I could sure make it kooler with a better stance, wheels and tires. Thanks for posting the pics...

Greg Davis and his lovely wife are the owners and builders of this beautiful Buick. They are from Hiawatha (far northeast Kansas) and own and operate a body shop complete with a louver press. The top is from a 65 Impala. His inspiration in building this car, which is chopped, channeled and sectioned is the Sam Barris`s Buick. They drive this thing everywhere. It`s been built for over 20 years. It`s a regular at Salina. He has been building a chopped 68-9 (?) Cad Eldorado for more than a few years now. I didn`t get a picture of the Blue Merc next to it. The shading was horrible from the tree`s and was sand wiched between two cars. Like I said before, you here alot o negativity about this show from people who have been here 15 years ago. It`s not like it was back in the 80`s. But what is. Things change. People always ask me if it`s worth the 8 to 10 hour drive. I tell them you need to go at least once. I have been to 10 Leadsled spectaculars before the 23 I attended in Salina. So I often spend more time talking to people than the time spent looking at cars. If you have been, you more than likely don`t know my name, but you would recognize me if you saw me. And remember seeing my car. Which I am never around.
