Event Coverage 2023 Must attend hot rod events

Cruisn’ the Coast https://cruisinthecoast.com/ along Mississippi Gulf Coast. Some folks like others hate it. A one week long car event with a bit of something for everyone. Last year over 9,000 cars registered with probably half again that much just showing up. Traditional hot rods, street rods, sports cars, muscle cars, antiques all at five venues along a 20 mile stretch of Gulf of Mexico Beach. Lots of activities, Autocross, swap meet, auction and the list goes on. The down side is traffic! Roads become a slow moving car show. Hard to get. Places to stay even though the casinos have lots of hotel space. This will be 27th year. I always enjoy it.

As mentioned, the LSR is the premier event this weekend, followed by the massive Pate Swap Meet 27-29 April @ Texas Motor Speedway.

 

For us in the Portland/Vancouver area, by far the best event around !

 

Hope its better than the MAD swap meet. I will go to the Salina KKOA and Spring Field swap meet and the Spam Drags.

 

Living in the "black hole" of H.A.M.B. style events sucks..

I don't do shows or travel more than a couple of hours anymore, never did the show scene.

 

the swap meet isnt what the event is about it’s just another attraction to the event and we have had good success in the last couple years of putting this event on we are stepping it up this year and hope that we can fill the place up with lots of like minded people who want to enjoy a vintage drag racing event much like the famous HAMB drags and meltdown drags that are no longer happening the only way for us to continue is for everyone to attend i for one sure hope you and all your friends come and participate

As far as I know the Spam drags are still on I can't see much has changed from the Hamb drags.

I'm gonna run my car at the straight axle mafia race here at my home track on May 27th, then I'm gonna drive the sumbitch to Bowling Green Ky and hang out with my crazy ass buddies down there, then I'm taking the faux gasser piece of shit to the Hoodlums in the holler event that @John B puts on, and if I'm not working, I'm gonna slide on over to the boogie nationals at fort boonesborough, and then I'll be here at my place for the October throwdown to shoot the shit with whoever decides to show up! Oh yeah, and I'll drive it to work also lol

There's only a handful off hot rod events here in Maine but we're planning on being at the Northeast Vintage Drags at Oxford Raceway Memorial Day weekend and the Pinetree Jamboree at Winterport Dragway September 15-17.

 

This is one for locals. Motel/Hotel rates are unbelievably expensive
in the summer. Average is over $300.

Pate Swap Meet - Texas Motor Speedway 27-29 April 2023

Billed as the largest in the country and is a goldmine for vintage tin.

 

L.A. Roadster show, Throttlers Picnic, Early Ford Store, Windfields.

 

Only one week until the Portland Transmission Show here! Got canceled last year, but the weather report for next Sat. May 13th is mid 80's, so should be a huge turnout!! Best show around the Portland area all year!
