Hot Rods 20th Annual All Deuce Run - cancelled - How about a virtual tour through the years.

Sorry guy's it just ain't gonna happen this year, and with the current outlook I don't think it will happen in 2020.

The health & well being of all our friends that have participated in the All Deuce Runs through out the years is paramount.

Since the run has been cancelled I thought I would share some photo's from the past runs, I will be adding photo's from the past run's over the next few days.HRP

BTW - the photo's will be in no particular order.

Dang it on the cancelation, I guess it just gives me another year to plan a trip down there!

 

Well crap, I was afraid it would come down to this. Better safe than sorry though. Danny, and everybody, stay safe and well. Wash your hands!

 

Danny thanks for the pictures, it’s sad that this won’t happen this year, but is better to be safe than sorry.

What happened to Randy's roadster and 3-window? Thanks for the photos…

 

Randy sold the 3 window just a few days before he went into the hospital, from the doctors grim prognosis he decided to sell the coupe, he met the buyer in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and the deal was done, I honestly don't remember the gentleman's name but he is/was a Hamber.

As for the roadster, Randy was driving the coupe and the subject of the roadster being burnt came up and all the work it needed to be put back on the road and the fact that Randy had recently starting dialysis and felt like it would never get put back together we were at the Shades of the Past show in 2012 and he said if someone would give him X number of dollars he would sell it, I had recently sold my Black 4 door and had the money and I said ," I'll buy it"

We shook hands and I thought that was it, Brenda and I was to meet Randy and Ouidasue that night at the Old Mill for dinning Brenda and Brenda ask Ouidasue what she thought about the sell, she cut her eyes at Randy and said,"What?"

Randy hadn't mentioned it to her and I sensed she was upset about him selling the car, after a few tense minutes I spoke up and said I won't hold him to the deal.

The next day Ouidasue confided to Brenda that she feared if Randy sold the roadster that he would just give up and not fight the dialysis, you might remember Randy had a 5 bypass surgery about 8 years earlier.

I forgot about it and talked to Randy often and urged him to try and work on the roadster , even offering to drive down to Columbia and help him do some of the work.

Then one day while I was over at Gene Cromer's helping with the Moon Lighter Willy's gasser my cell phone rang and it was Randy, he told me he was in the hospital and being prepped for surgery, they were going to replace a bad heart valve and said he had a 50/50 chance of survival, he told me he has at peace with what ever happen and he was ready to meet the Good Lord if it went bad, he then said he had talked to Ouidasue and wanted her to sell me the roadster for what I had offered a few years previously.

I told him to fight it because we were not ready to let you go.

He then said he loved me & Brenda, Randy died later on that afternoon.the

Brenda made the casket piece for Randy's coffin and delivered it in the wagon to the funeral service & burial.

I never mentioned the conversation with Ouidasue but she was with Randy when we talked, she came to Anderson about 6 months after Randy passed away and I ask her about the roadster, she said she just wasn't ready to let it go, I said OK.

During this time we had a family emergency and I had to dip deep into my hot rod money so that's why I sold my 32 pickup so I would have the money when Ouidasue called.

I have ask her about the car a few times since 2013 and I don't think she can or will let the car go, I suppose the car is still sitting in the same spot it was last time I saw it, I know Randy's brother was killed a couple of years ago but he and Ouidasue didn't get along.

So now you know the whole story. HRP

 

Wow…Thanks for that. I didn't realize he passed trying to get something repaired, I thought it was a heart attack. Super informative guy.....miss reading his posts. You're a good friend Danny....

Randy Nash was a really good dude. I met him early on when the hot rod bug bit me. He was the first Hamb'er I met and always friendly. Sorry his life got cut short. Seeing that picture of his 3 window took me back to a GoodGuys show in Charlotte. He and I spent a lot of time talking that day.

 

When I took this photo of Randy on the All Deuce Run it would have never occurred to me that it would be the last image of my close friend. HRP

Thanks for those great pictures. I always enjoy seeing events that I wouldn't likely see any other way. Like others have stated I think this year for car shows and swap meets are going to be a bust.
