I love this look. If you keep the windshield chopped low it will give it a great look and stand out quite a bit! SUBSCRIBED!
So today I made a new subframe out of 2x1 box section and the body is now ready for frame work Then I cleaned and polished my 32 for a rod run tomorrow. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Wow i'm so jeal! If I said you have a beautiful body would you hold it against me? You got really lucky there especially with that steel subframe I've never seen anything like that. I'm guessing it's a late '25 because even the cowl has all steel bracketry toe boards and everything! Thanks for the pics they are really helpful this may be a bit much to ask but any measurements and curvature calculations would be mucho appreciado. I've been held back on my T bythe fact that I have absolutely no wood (definitely no steel subframe) and my panels have buckled and warped over time. I am pretty much baffled by how to return the panels to their original curvature let alone build the steel skeleton. Two thoughts I had were: take a bunch of pictures of a stock body then use them to trace the shapes and curvatures then scale them using something static in the pics like the rad cap 2) I've heard of people cutting shapes for patterns from cardboard. Specifically these bodies pinch in at the bottom and the crazy coke bottle like the curvatures of the cowl. Any thoughts diagrams measurements etc would be greatly appreciated!
The pics make it look real long, plenty of room for the family. Dude, you need a bigger shed, that yellow car keeps getting in the way
Finally I have started to frame the body out. I started by attaching the body to the subframe along the bottom and then installed the rear door pillars and then the 6x2 inch folded channels which serve also as seat riser incline for rear seat and rear floor toeboard mounts Also mocked up a rear wheel. Started working on the body frame out again. Another few days and I can finish the door framing and then start mocking things up to build the chassis Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Last night I did some more welding on the body frame and could start to take some of the centre jigging out Really looking forward to today's progress and can't wait to mock this thing up Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Great work on the bracing, I bet it is starting to feel more like a body and not a set of floppy panels.
Sure has made an amazing difference with the steel frame work.... One more day and I can mock this up!!!! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Big day today - I got the body framing to a point where I could mock up the car. It's certainly got the look I was shooting for. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thanks mate it's turning out how I envisaged so I'm pretty happy Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
This is the first time I've seen the frame...deuce with Model A front horns? When are we going to see the frame build?...inquirin' minds.
The frame is 6 x 2 folded channel with Model A style horns. The chassis is yet to be built but I tacked some cross braces in to set the car up to mock things up as there are still a bunch of unknowns in it at this stage. The chassis horns prob aren't staying. Contemplating torsion bar suspension like my Model A pickup had. Mindful of how tight things will be for things like a gas tank too as I want the seating positions low in this Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thanks - yep it sure has. I guess it hasn't taken too long to get it to this stage either. Next up is to build the chassis. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
