Looking for a distributor (s) to upgrade my 59 Ford 223 Loadomatic.

I need a small cap distributor from a mid sixties to early seventies Ford I-6. I’d really prefer one with both vacuum and mechanical advance. Points is fine but modules are not.

The Duraspark 300/4.9 is a HEI and takes up a lot of precious space, also it looks like it doesn’t belong.

The common swap, Cardone 84-2610 is no longer available.
Let me know what you have.

I just purchased a WAI DST2613. It hasn’t arrived yet and I already have buyers remorse lol.

Get a distributor for a 300 6 that still has points and convert it with Pertronix. I'm doing this on my '61 F100. There's a little bit of retrofitting but it's a pretty easy swap.

Thanks I’ve been looking for one, actually just missed out on the auction site. I’m at the mercy of the internet. People don’t save much parts around here and the people who do don’t sell them.

Yes I’ve tried that. Not all counter guys have the patience or the time to randomly search for swap parts

Your not looking very hard then. A quick Google search came up with at least a dozen options. It's not that hard. Go to the parts store and ask for a distributor for a 1970 Ford F100 with a 300 6 cylinder. You don't have to confuse them with parts swap details. They don't understand the concept probably anyways.

One would think… I just went to Napa AND my local old school trusty parts store, told them exactly as you suggest. Neither of them even have a listing. I’ve ordered them online and didn’t get a tracking number so after a few days I cancelled the order. Check Rock Auto if you’re curious, 5 or 6 different options all out of stock.

I know I’m being picky, that’s because Bubba recommended the Cardone **-2610. He was extremely knowledgeable and supportive of the 223s on Fordsix.com.

Anyway thank you for the suggestion. I’ve got a brand new (offshore) WAI DST-2610 and I’m going to swap out the guts with Standard Ignition parts.
