1952-59 Ford 223 in a 53 ford

would this work? just wondering my motor when out on me. I see the motor mounts are different. would you use this transmission? would the 3 speed from my car work on this?

This motor looks to be a 54 or newer, the oil filter is at the front . 53 has oil filter in the middle of block. It would work but you would need to build new motor mounts on frame. I bought a 54 that someone installed a 53 215 and had made some micky mouse motor mounts.
To fix this problem I installed a much better Mouse Motor

 

It would be easier to install this:http://lewiston.craigslist.org/pts/3820567192.html than to fabricate mounts for the 223 which would be a good fit for a 1954-63 F100 you should be able to get the $800 asking price.
