Event Coverage 22nd Groundhog Gala Orlando

Some light rain, cloudy skies and cold Central Florida weather didn’t detour a big crowd yesterday at The Orlando Misfires Car Club annual Groundhog Gala Hot Rod and Custom show.
We were all truly impressed at the 170 car count, and the hundreds of spectators that came. Gotta say, this was one of the purists and most successful shows we’ve had, in a long time. HAMB friendly cars n trucks came from far and wide. Long distance award from couple that braved the cold and drove 266 miles.
New location, Henry’s Depot Sanford Florida did a fantastic job, serving food and drinks all day
City screwed up the parking but we all made the best of it and invaded a parking lot next door.
Brand new adjacent brick road will ironically be open in a few weeks, so that will fix problem next year.
3 live Americana style band and DJ provided great background music all day long. Incredible hand made trophies were awarded to top picks. And a 50/50 Raffle and ***orted prizes kept everyone happy. Looking forward to next year. Now time to start planning my big Florida Dragstrip Riot 6 October 28/29

Damn I will be down there in a few weeks. Sorry I missed this. Would have been getting off the Autotrain right in the neighborhood. Will be close by as my wife is a Winter Park girl. Anything happening between Mar.4 and 15th? May spend time between Mt Dora, Orlando, Daytona.

Seem not that long a go,running up state for car shows an races,was simple an EZ,not even a long trip. Made a lot of trips, north Florida.
Now that I 'm 80 this year,the state seems too of got longer!

 

Sorry I missed it this year. See you in the fall I hope.

Don’t get me wrong. Rather have some guy out in garage building something, than talking about it. But maybe it’s run it’s course.
