Finally got some time in the shop, got the frame roughed out, pinched to fit the body, and shortened about 12". Seat at top of frame with feet at bottom in a small footwell to come. Now we can mock it up with motor, (an Iron Duke from a midget, with a Muncie, and Frankland quickie.) At least now there's some light at the end of the tunnell.
i also like the A tank with the T body. ya gonna kick up the rear of the frame to line up or even hid inside that trudle deck?
For that combination of parts I think you should channel the body at half way down over the frame rail, raise the deck up to about 3" below the top of the back panel, acquire another turtle deck and do what it takes to mount it to the first one upside down to enclose the tail of the frame where you put the fuel tank,(that A thing up front is just style, isn't it?), battery and have a nice storage area for trips. It is odd but it could be good. Just do some scale drwings to see what is possible/passable.
Yeah I agree with pasadenahotrod, it needs to be channeled a bit, your'e already sittin' low inside the rails. Should look killer. Whats the wheel and tire combo?
Great idea - solves all those leg room problems you get with using early T's. I went with a 27 cowl to get leg room in my Modified. This is a really creative solution.
Looks great. I'd kick up the rear part of the frame to come more inline with the bottom of the turtle deck
Thanks for all the comments, need to get it home and mock up the running gear next. Will probably run wide fives, keeping a sort of oval track flavor. Also need to decide where to run rear radius rods, ( using hairpins on the front).
