Technical 230ci Chevy head to interchange with a 250ci ???

Hi guys can anyone tell me if a 230ci Chevy 6 cylinder head will fit and run on a 250ci Chevy 6 cylinder, any other info on this would be appreciated.

No reason it won't work. Might have slightly higher compression due to smaller combustion chamber which will improve power and economy.

 

All the 194, 215, 230, 250, 292 six cylinder heads will swap, even the dreaded integral intake head. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Ive a 250ci block and a 230ci head, just need to know they will work together before I go any further.

 

yes, 230 and 250 use the same head.

 

I cant seem to find anywhere to decode the block numbers, I have 473483 on the side of the block and F0716TAJ on the flat plate near the distributor, any idea where I can get these decoded???

 

TAJ is a truck engine from the 1973 or 74
