Hi guys I haven’t posted on here in sometime . I hope this is in right area .
    I have 53 chevy pickup 235 6 cyl
Carb rebuilt put it on hooked up fine
    And runs pretty good
Problem is its idleing to fast
Try to turn down and it dies out
It has plastic spacer between carb
And Manifold I sprayed wd 40 on all looking for vacum leak .all good except
When I spray around plastic spacer
Engine speeds. Up so I think. That’s problem
Does not appear to be cracked just does it around base
Can these go bad ? Maybe warp or something ? Do I need to just get new one and die they need gaskets and any kind of sealer .
Any ideas on what y should do ?

Sounds like you've located a vacuum leak. No liquid sealer, but gaskets for sure.

make sure the gaskets match the surfaces they have to seal...there are some variations.

Also it's possible that the vapor is entering around the throttle shaft.

Tell us how you adjusted the idle mixture screw, before you get too far involved with trying to find vacuum leaks.

Base plate may not be flat.

Make sure that you have the correct gaskets for your carb and intake. I'd take a sheet of 280 sandpaper and a flat piece of glass and smooth out both sides of that plastic block too.
