I finally found a 235? I think. I was driving around in the sticks and found a little junkyard with a 54 chevy. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but I noticed the car was equipped with a automatic transmission. This would mean that it has a 235, right? The motor spun without any problem or rough spots so I figured it'll run a lot easier than my 216 that was submerged for a week in flood water. The motor appears to be in even better shape than my pos cavillac's motor. Any info would help.

    Thanks,
    John

if it's the original engine, it should be the 235 and powerglide. The 54 engine is the one to get....only year of the good full pressure 235 with the early style water pump mounting, makes it a breeze to swap a 235 in an older chevy car or pickup.
