235 chevy engine assembly

    my buddy and I are in final ***embly of his 235, we are both old and having brain cramps, we cant remember about these two holes in timing cover, the cover is threaded but the holes in the block that correspond are not, there is also a tab that is made to bend over to lock the bolts/nuts in place. Oil pan is on. Im sure its something stupid and maybe we need to remove the pan to see. In our defense the engine was at machine shop for 1 year! Thanks for any help Ken

  3. that article seems good. i really dont know as i have not worked on one of those engines. i just wanted to say...at least im not the only one who had an engine at the machine shop for a year. well mine was a bit less. however i am trying to remember how the thing goes back together. good luck with your project.
