I am ordering the ignition system for my 235 and am looking at an ignitor II system but the one i am looking at is for a 250 and 230 will this fit my motor?? and what else is compatible between these two series of engines?
Oil & water ! 2 entirely different engine designs. Save your self some grief ,run points very traditional.
Not at all traditional but with a few easy mods you can get a 250 HEI distributor in your 235. I did this with my 216 and was very happy with the results.
Ok i might be able to tackle that but i was just looking for something that would just replace the points under the factory cap to keep it looking traditional
They make one for the 216-261, get the correct one. I believe the the 235 dist would be a positive and the later 230-250 are negative ignitions. (May be incorrect) but there is a difference. And I run one in my 58 235 without issues. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I've been running the Pertronix Ignitor 1167 for a few years now with no issues. Stock motor with dual carbs & split manifold. Looks like that # is now discontinued and replaced with 1168LS.
ok Thanks for you guys' help, but do you happen to know the rearend gear ratios for the 58 chevy 3200 6cyl with a 4 speed??
