I was cleaning up the rocker arm assembly from my donor head last night and stopped wasting my time after I found some nasty scoring and gouging (maybe I'm being overly critical, but it looks like poop to me).

I did some googling and found a dead link to Rock Auto Parts for a new set of rocker arm shafts. Of course, a dead link is of very little use, so I'm wondering if replacement shafts - and rocker arms too (what the hell, why not) - are still available and how many organs am I going to have to sell to buy them.

Thanks folks. By the way it's a '54.

most regular auto parts stores can supply any of the rocker assembly parts. You don't need to go through specialty shops if you don't want to...

Hmm...interesting. I've asked around at a few places near work and I just get blank stares in return. Think I'll have to expand my search. Rock Autoprts used to sell them, but they no longer do.

A "," between "Patricks" and "langdon" would be nice.

  6. I used rocker arm specialties. I sent them about 3 complete sets of 235 rockers and shafts and they sent me back a beautiful rocker assembly. I think it was relatively cheap, too. I'll probably use them for my nailhead too.

I bought shafts from CarQuest about a year ago. Otherwise try Ebay or the mail order places.
