235 white smoke @ start up

    Good deal! Glad to hear you 'got 'er done'! Ha It's nice to also see favorable results when you are done.
    I'm not sure about the copper sleeves for the manifold. I'm thinking they should be fine, but have no first hand knowledge concerning this particular application. Were they alignment 'dowls' or actual sleeves to conduct gases between the two castings?

    Anyway it sounds like you have it going in the right direction!

    As long as the copper sleeves are the proper size there is no reason that they won't work OK, the intake ports don't deal with nearly the hight temps of the exhaust ports...Good luck, topless.

    Actually, I don't know if you noticed what you did, but changing the head gasket and getting the heads done took care of both possibilities for the smoke.

    Head gasket and valve seals.

    Sometimes, it's that easy if you needed the head worked on anyways.

    JANDK...glad you got it fixed, but remember in cold weather they all make moister at the tailpipe. actually some do in warm weather. it just depends on the engine and exaust system...POP.

    worn valve guides or seals is more then likely your problem
