235 with unexplainable knock!!!!!

    I figured the rod would be similar to a 270 / 302 Jimmy, oh well maybe the bolt loosened up or broke as someone suggested. Pin could also be loose in the piston or the skirt may have cracked.

    I would check the wrist pin.Mine has been knocking for the last 24 years I've owned the car.Still drove the shit out of it.

    your oil pressure in a new rebuilt 235 should be at least 45 lbs and may drop significantly at idle but with higher rpm's oil pressure especially in a fresh rebuild would be very high

    have you checked the trunk to see if ya locked the neighbors kid in?
     
  5. I had a 235 in a '55 F1 p/u do the exact same thing!
    Snowing,traffic, I'm trying to get my kid to the daycare! Drove it until it got hot from not having a belt, let it cool some, and drove it home.
    I really think it ran better on five! Mike :eek::eek:
