Hmm.. I actually picked up a set of F1 pedals earlier at a swap meet for cheap. I've been debating whether I want to run those or not. Your T is motivating me to..

La Mancha tomorrow. I will be there a little after 11 since the Chargers play at noon and since they're in the playoffs I'll be drinking to calm my nerves.
Wow! I don't get in here much, but I saw this and had to read all the way through. You Sir, are a craftsman! Your ideas are top notch! I put my cars together and make them work but your fabrications are works of art. Keep up the good work. Dave
If the spring is mounted in tension like the factory 28-41 Ford install there will be negligable side sway. In 42 Ford started mounting the spring in big rubber bushings and using a Panhard front and rear due to the sidesway issue.
These days virtually everyone uses the "poly" shackle bushings which are very stiff as far as sides sway goes. I occasionally use original style forged shackles but use the poly bushings. I do know more than one '46-'48 Ford with some serious handling issues due to shot shackle rubbers. Good info!
Everybody is going to be checking out your rear end and they will like it. The whole back end treatment is great.
