I was going to ask you to add your latest photo to my thread called something like "Let's see Model T's with A grills" or something like that but I can't find it from my phone! Car is looking fantastic! I think the A shell brings it all together perfectly! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I love 28-29 shells and I think what you did is perfect!! You gonna nickel plate it? Not cheap I know. I love this build. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Anderson, are these door skins perfectly symetrical? In other words, lets say for instance that a guy has a Canadian touring cowl (Canadian T tourings had opening doors on both sides, for those that dont know this). Could he take a re-pop passenger side door skin, fab the inner panel to put the hinges and latch on the opposite side, and use it on the drivers side?
Thanks Anderson. Sounds like I could use a pass. side skin on the drivers side, with a little tweaking.
So you would prefer a '30-'31 grille shell over a '28-'29? Interesting.. I think the '28-'29s are much better looking shells than their later counter parts. To each their own. The short-block looks great. What compression are you going to get with those flat-top pistons?
Love the shell, I have one on my 26. A bit unusual to see on an early T but it really works very well. There are those that hate any A shell on anything but an A, I say they are wrong. Coming along nicely. JW
I was just checking out your thread again, had been before the hamb upgrade since I'd looked at it. You have come such a long way, very impressive. I like the A shell as well, and your door/jamb work is fantastic. Thanks for sharing, it's inspirational. Matt.
I "thought" the doors got slightly taller towards the back. Not much, maybe 3/8"-7/16". Just enough to look wrong if you took a left side door, and put it on the right side. Can anybody verify this? Cheers, Stewart.
Looking sooo good. I went back through this entire thread. The fab and design are inspiring. I just dragged (well, flew) a '25 roadster body home to Hawaii. I'm stoked. Thanks for taking the time to post your build. Keep up the good work! Aloha
Not often I read through a entire thread lately, just haven't had the time. I got hooked in this one and just finished all 21 pages and wow I love the car and build!! Almost lost me with the 37 grill but you nailed it with the latest version!! Subscribed.
Congrats on wedding ! Your T is Looking better every time I`m looking at it ! Any plans for the color ?
I had a set of those once, and sold them for tall dollars. Good luck finding more. You'll probably find them on the $1 table at a swap meet.
Wow i just saw this build, its awesome! Your attention to detail is great and I love what you did with the doors. Makes me think about a 28/29 shell on my T. Keep up the good work!
Awesome man they look great! Glad they found a good home. A good friend of mine has a full set of those aftermarket caps identical to your pair, but I think he's pretty attached to 'em. Yours are the only other ones I have actually seen...
