Can anyone tell me what fuel pressure my mechanical pump should be putting out to the stromberg carb? Went for cam break in and fuel was everywhere. Thanks in advance Dan

My Strombergs prefer about 1.5 pounds.

If your talking about the Bendix-Stromberg carb, mine will take 3-lbs without any problems. Think that is what the 241 came with stock.

I have to ask : what kind of Stromberg? I think we are assuming a 97/48, but since those Dodges (another assumption, this time by me) had 4 bolt carburetors, it might be a different model. A pressure regulator may help (it could be a leak in the carburetor itself), but I'd like to know a little bit more about the exact combination.

It’s a 97, 4 bolt stromberg. Had it rebuilt recently. It just seemed like my fuel pressure is overrunning the carb. Had fuel coming out the top cover of the accelerator pump once I shut it down. Had some over heating issues as well

This truck was all original when I got it. Slowly killing me financially! Ha!

Also, how would I know to increase the fuel pressure or decrease it? New to working on old stuff so I have a million questions. Thanks Dan

Hook your pressure/vacuum gauge to it. If you don't have one, try to find an old one made in the USA at a garage sale, swap meet, etc.
