Been having to much fun with my coupe but managed to get a lot done the past few days. I started the exhaust today, nothing fancy because it's not needed. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1401328896.236532.jpg

Floorboards are done and the water outlets are done with new hoses. Rebuilt the entire front brake system and brake rods. Still left is wiring, fuel lines and some odds and ends. I am going to paint the frame but for now the engine is gonna be dirty. SOS is next Saturday and I plan on bringing it so time for the rush! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1401499155.569478.jpg

Sorry for the 4 posts but my I phone app won't let me attach more than 1 at a time.

I like the "correct" hose clamps...lots of folks ruin the engine bay with new clamps.

I love it. I missed out on a T roadster body a while back. I would have gone in the direction you've gone. Very nicely done.

Well it's alive sorta. We had her running and drove it around the block. About 5 hours later it won't start so I got more work ahead of me but I think I should make it in time for the show. Thanks to Rogi, don't know if I could have done this with out ya! I had a video, but the damn thing didn't load so I'll try to get one up in the next few days.

I have no idea how I missed this build thread. I love it.

Got it running again today, I think I have a short in my ignition switch. Carb still needs final adjustments and Rogi and I timed it on the fly so that might be a little off as well.

I don't know how I passed over this thread for so long, but like Jimmy, I had to go through the whole thing. Looks great.

Decided I need a muffler of some sort, the exhaust is just too loud and I need some back pressure. Going to do that tomorrow. Still trying to get it tuned right. The carb may need more work too. Every time i think I have it licked I advance the timing all the way and she dies. Timing still isn't right. She is also getting warm pretty quick since it isn't moving and I have no fan. Tomorrow I am putting a box fan on high in front of the radiator to help keep her temps down. Hopefully I make it for SOS.

  24. I ran a stock Model A exhaust with a straight pipe in place of the muffler on my speedster. She sounded & ran excellent with it! Not piercingly loud & hardly any backfiring.

Ok, D day time has come. Rogi came over today and we swapped out the dizzy with another one I have. It was very hard to set timing with all the play it had. Ran only for a bit but got rid of all the lash, last one had a badly worn shaft. Spark from the points is very weak so tomorrow we are swapping out the coil and re-wiring the fuel pump. We had it hooked up to the coil at first because everything else is constant hot and we may have weakened it by doing so. Going to run the pump of a toggle switch tied into the junction box. Fingers crossed.

Ok 3rd dizzy is now in, lol! Also put a new coil on and we have good spark. Pump was on but not pumping so we thought we had a block in the line some where. Turns out when I wired the pump today to the toggle switch, I wired it up as negative ground. Once we figured that out she ran and ran good. Got her timed and she is purring. The generator is not charging though so rogi is grabbing one to swap out tonight.
