A while ago I had the bright idea, that I was going to drive a 29 tudor through the Winter and it would be my primary driver...

I reminded myself as I sat in the heated seats and looked in the rear view mirror this morning why I was psyched it never did happen...

So this was the scene as my car was "WARMing up". It felt like every seal in my car was about to crack or explode...

So why did I leave California?

The cold keeps the assholes inside .It's about 5 degrees here in western NY state , I got a heated shop so....I'm ready to paint my old Camino but I'll wait a few day for the temps to rise so heating the shop to 70 won't be such a flow of money from my wallet to the gas company.

It was 91 degrees in Santa Ana on Wednesday and is predicted to stay in the eighties for the next few days. Sorry guys, but that's why we pay a fortune for real estate, live on top of one another with garage space at a premium, breathe a load of crap, the freeways are a permanent parking lot and cannot afford toys just because the mortgage payment and running costs - taxes etc. are so high.

    Ain't that the truth.

It was 25 above Sunday and I decided to drive the A back to my place about 8 miles from the garage we had set up for the "shop tour" for the NDSRA. Not a bad ride. I locked out the overdrive so I had compression braking and I shot a few snow rooster tails off the tires, some of which fell in the open top.

Thursday nite it dipped to minus 44 degrees, without the wind chill, and we weren't the coldest spot in the region. The oil in my flathead is like wheel bearing grease at that temp.

Oh, did I mention we've passed the 60 inches of snow amount? Worst winter in 11 years. Every time the wind blows the roads are covered with ice and snow. Lots of car accidents. I had somebody run into the back of my truck Thursday--3000lb econo box-- the truck won, and at 25 degrees below zero the plastic bumper and grille on the econobox just "exploded".

It's -22 below  north of the windy city! I jumped into my 1970 Bronco (my daily driver when not driving the hotrod)and she was Frozen like a Ice Cube! But she's a good ! The girl moaned a bit but fired up:D. It really never warmed up and barely keep the ice off the inside of the windsheild.
You can get real soft driving one of them new trucks:D

I think these temps. will get anybody "real soft" no matter what they are driving!

-22 here in South Central Wisconsin. Not that bad, though. I remember -46 growing up in far Northern WI.

In Michigan it's about -30 with wind chill, but we didn't have school today since it's so cold. No school Monday either for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Four day weekend!

I've got -38 celsius here, I'm pretty sure it's the same in fahrenheit. I'm not sure what the windchill's at.

About half of the "flightline" guys that work for me are wearing shorts this week. This state continues to piss me off but then I hear stuff like this post and realize that I will most likely live in Cali till the end......while wearing shorts:rolleyes:. Plus who has time to leave....Pomona this weekend, GNRS next weekend and so on....

I guess Rutland county was the luckiest part of Vt, we were -30 at 4:30am. That's cold even for us...

It's a good thing Al Gore invented global warming.

Hey Overspray, my little sister and her husband live on a farm outside of Bismark, this winter has been kicking their ass. Nice coupe, btw.
