I got an e-mail from one of the guys in our car club that has run across a bit of a hidden treasure. A local business man purchased a garage on a residential lot at an estate sale and said there was an old car inside it that he needed to get rid of. So my buddy being a die hard hot rodder went to check it out. He opened the door and there it was, a 1926 Model T. It's a one owner, intact, rust free car that had the grille shell removed along with the engine and tranny. But the parts are all there. The wooden frame is in excellent condition, completely unmolested, seats are there and it's sitting on the original wooden spoked rims. The guy that bought the garage also has a spray foam insulation business and needs the space for storage so he told my buddy that if he cleans out the garage, he can have the car. So I guess we're going to go pick this thing up in 2 weeks time. Not to mention, we get first dibs on everything else in the garage. He's torn on whether he should build it or just put it all together and sell it. He already has a couple projects on the go, not to mention he's up to his arse hole in engine builds for other guys. I'll post up some pictures tomorrow when I'm home from work. But in the mean time, what does a rod like this sell for?
Wooden frame? You talking about the wood top insert? Cause they didn't have a wooden frame other than that and the wood inside the body. Good score... I want to see more pics!!!
Yeah no wooden frame in 26 T. If it is a stocker than they don't sell for much. I know a local guy who has a prestine coupe that he started off asking 12k and he is now at 9k and still no takers. It is a super nice car.
It'll go for more if you can get a hold of any paperwork, as in, the title & some sort of written statement from the land owner ideally. That's what I'd be looking for as a buyer in MA because of the new laws up here.
