Technical 26 roadster..wont fire??

    trying to fire up the roadster...all new stuff...im not getting any spark... i have power to the coil..brand new.. and it is getting really warm?? could it be bad?? i unplugged the coil wire and with engine turning i put a test light in there and no light came on.. dont know if thats how you test it?? any ideas...new petronix dist.. all hooked up correct

    also new plugs etc// i tested all wires for resistance when i installed they are all good?

    left to grab a pizza.. came back ..garage full of smoke..coil blew up?? oil everywhere

    This might be some of your problem. Do you have current to the coil at all times? The coil should only see current when the ignition switch is in the "crank" or "run" position. Recheck your wiring. If it's getting current all the time that would explain the coil getting hot and the resulting meltdown.

    The Pertronics is probably toast now also. You let the smoke out!

    yea. sbc.. i had the coil grounded... that was a mistake! i put a new one in.. only grounded by the dist.. and it fired right up... live and learn
