I'm pretty sure you were dreaming.

  2. I think What your looking for was marketed as a adaptor to convert a BOP 350 or 400 trans to a chevy engine. You sawed away the existing bell and used longer front pump bolts to attach that conversion bellhousing. I remember reading a article about it in a magazine years ago.

Points to remember 265 so no side mounts, From the info I can find front mount C1 Corvettes had iron bellhousings except 62 powerglide, and some pickups ran a 700R4 converter cover like this with braces from the bottom 2 holes forward to the motor mounts http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l300/pict/252720755382_1.jpg I would think about bellhousing mounts.

    Jim, I
m not dreaming, I know I saw it, but did't think I'd actually forget the original thread. And believe me, I know all about the differences in all the SBC engines (no BBC for purposes of this thread). I actually have two of the 4WD bellhousing inspection covers and the struts that attach to the side engine mounts. This is star6ting to drive me nuts; I keep pouring through all the old threads; even the ones that could't be the one I'm looking for. I'm sure it will surface again. Thanks, and keep helping a guy out fellow HAMBERS. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
