I had been working this deal for a few months finally it came home.
I believe its a 1927 Model T , roadster but I dont know my old Fords as good as I should? It was an old hot rod in the day , its been in a barn for 22 years I know of.
Does the rear turtle deck just bolt on? Or might I have a truck turned into a roadster?
Pics will be up tonight of what I am trying to explain but if you have some ideas or knowledge to share, please help.
I got a modified and kicked frame.
Rear end looks like a 55 chevy.
Solid no cancer, model T body with doors that work. Solid firewall.
Rear turtle deck with extra deck and rear pan.Kinda crusty.
    Windshield and frame
front juice brakes , looks like truck parts.
    2 rad shrouds
    Hood
    Corvair steering box
And a frying pan of bits.
As for a plan ? Shit I dont have one yet but I want a lot of HAMB influence.
    I do have a 440 and a 727 TF that needs a home?
I find all kinds of T buckets but not early roadster Ts, pics ?
Oh yeah, I traded a running Porsche 914 for it as well as some parts cars!
My dad said "you wanted that car bad didn't ya Son".
I just smiled and said YEP.

OKay its a T from the pictures I have found. It may be earlier than a 27 though? It has a small frame that runs from the body around the back shaped like a U, the rear deck sits on that.
Sixties Style I read all your posts and thanks for doing what you do for the HAMB.
Pics to come but I had to resize them and then my Work server blocked them.

The turtledeck support is more prominent on the earlier T's because of the smaller turtledeck, but it's still there on the '26-'27 "Improved" Fords. Of course, a lot of builders of early cars hack that off. The looks suffer as a result, IMO.

This is NOT the car but the body does look like this one, including the rear turtle deck. It has small doors like this one and the U shaped part is under the deck like mine? Year?

Extra deck? As in extra deck lid? If you've got an extra trunk lid for this car let me know, I'll buy it from you, I need one for my '26 T roadster. Shoot me a PM.

I am told that the 26-27 T bodies fit on an early Model A chassis like a glove, so my roadster is going onto a '28 A body and I'm using the '28 fenders along with it for a smoother look. I would very much like to see pictures of the one that you're getting.

The rumor is that Ford didn't think the Model A body was going to be ready in time, so they set up the Model A chassis to use the '27 body. I look forward to seeing how that looks. What radiator shell are you using?

I gotta go home and get those pics up .....cough cough,,,boss I'm feeling poorly. I'll get some pics up by 430PM Tejas time anyhow.
What rad shroud am I using? Shit I dunno, prolly what ever I can find or fits.
It came with 2 one from a early T and another that looks like a A shroud thats been cut off on the bottom 4 " or so?
What about a big ass 440 mopar in it? Its free and running 33K miles?
Thanks for the T and A lesson 60's , I have a lot to learn and will.
Its a 26 or 27 model from the pics and info thats been given. Let me find out what all I have and the years and if I can help a HAMBer out too , then great.
    Its all about Karma mannnnnnn,
Shit , sick gotta run home.

I think that would be cool. Just be sure your frame is up to the power a 440 can put down. And make sure you have enough brake to stop it.

If you have some extra stuff, especially a trunklid, I'm super interested, and I'll pay whatever it's worth, not looking for any giveaways or anything like that. And if you need any info on the 26-27 T, I'll do my best to help out, I know a little bit about them.

Were you wondering what grille I'm using? I've got the 28 grille and hood, don't know if the hood will fit on the '26-'27 cowl, but I'll mock it up when I get the body on the chassis, I also have the original T grille and hood, and a Peerless accessory grille shell, which was what you got from Western Auto back in the day when you bought a new radiator for your Ford. I'll mock them all up and see which I like best, I think a cut down Deuce grille and no hood could be cool too, we'll see when I get that far.

I think the A shell is too high, the hood will end up running downhill toward the cowl. Maybe you could section it. I'd like to see the Peerless stuff, T accessories are endlessly fascinating.

BobBleed sectioned my 32 truck grille and set up my model A frame- it fits well and looks proportioned.
    27 T's are pretty neat

Looks like a nice solid body you got there, and a cool old chassis too. Looks like it was well built when it was done. Any idea what engine this had in it when it was first built?

Got no idea about the engine but its built solid . It needs some boxing and filler welds but very usable.
I'm hunting the drop axle for it , its on 30 acres of pole barns and cedar.
If you look back on my post , I posted about an older gent who wanted to talk cars ....one thing led to another , bada bing bada boom...I have my Model T.
I have had a over 50 cars in my 39 years and I'll never come close to what he has in under roof.
I will break a beer with my buddy and see what he had in mind for it? Geezuus life is good.

    looks like a great start!

  23. Not to hi-jack, but Squablow, IMO a '26/27 roadster with '28/29 fenders and splash aprons with a '32 grill is as good as classic fendered roadsters get.

I hope so, I've got pretty much everything I need. I'm planning on '35 wires and a brass V windshield, powered by a two carb banger. Thanks for the "affermation"

Shit when it rains it pours...
    Buddies have bestowed some gifts..
Options for drive train now as follows.
    1.440 mopar and a 727 TF
    2. 305-350 with 5spd OD or auto.
    3. 4.3 V6 with auto
    4. 2.3L 4 banger with auto and FI...
Tell me , what would you run? All are basically the same price.

  28. im curious as to what the 440 will look like in there. so i say 440. that thing looks like its going to be way fun to build!

Skunk victim...you jinxed me ! I hit one of your beloved with my daily this AM.
Gotta power wash the daily, geeze that stinks.
Anymore ideas on drive train for the roadster T? I leaning towards the SBC and the 5 spd but the 440 and 727 TF might be fun too?
I know I should keep it traditional but the 2.3 drivetrain could be hidden by a full hood and such, gas is getting a bit high around these parts? Nah HOT RODs need 3 pedals dont they?
Just how much could you channel the body and still be confortable driving?

Given those exact choices, I'd run the 305 and the 5-speed. I like manual transmissions and the SBC is the most retro of the four choices. They take quite well to backdating even further if you're looking for a 1940s look. Consider script valvecovers from a 283, a generator, an oilbath aircleaner and some subdued color like black or gray - don't forget the swan-neck shifter on the T5.
