Hamber Pigpen, also in texas has, inmy opinion, the perfect 26-27 roadster. I believe he is running a Ford flathead. Many pics of his car have been posted.

how the hell do you give a SBC a 40's look?

anyway, that'd be my choice of motors as well.

The 2.3L four banger (assuming it's a Ford) have a big following and can put out some really good horsepower, could be fun with a turbo on it, but it'd have to have a stick behind it, no fun with an auto.

Second choice would be the 440, Mopars aren't used that much in hotrods (other than the Hemi) so it would definitely get the coolness-for-being-different factor, plus gobs of horsepower and bottom end torque. Just make sure your frame and rearend are beefy enough to handle it all.

  4. Here is mine...so far...27t(coupe) on A rails...mine is the one between the "cooler" A's

  6. This is a 27 I built 10 years ago. The rear fenders are model A, and no, they don't fit the 27 body. Had to cut the inner lip off the fenders , make it fit the body by bending/tweaking/pie cutting/ fiberglassing (they were glass fenders), then reattach the rest of the fender to the lip. The 27 bodies look neat but the cockpit area/legroom is too small for humans. I cut 3" out of the daisy panel (behind the seat area just so I could have enough room to set in it without the "knees in chin" syndrome.

  9. I'm hi-jacking this 'cause I don't know how this would work:confused: I would love to run the A fenders on my T Touring(only 'cause the wife wants fenders). I would like to see pictures too.

  10. Stogie---As per my previous post, I had to do a lot of modifications to get model A rear fenders onto the 27 roadster. A great deal of that screwing around was because I had channeled the 27 about 5", so that the fender no longer fit against a flat surface, but actually had to curve in at the top and match the roll at the top of the roadster 1/4 panel. I think if you are running an unchanneled model T touring, you don't have to modify anything to add 28/29 model A fenders. The front and rear fenders and the splash aprons bolt to the top of the frame, and the body sets on top of that. I am going to attach a picture of the 28/29 fender package installed on my roadster pickup frame---it may help clarify things for you.---Brian

Just my opinon, I'd go 440. With a blower and short straight headers. Just like Tony Nancy used to run on his 22 jr dragster.
