Mid 60s broncos have a 9 inch with a 5x5x1/2 pattern. speedway sells high quality spacers that can be used to change the bolt pattern.
WOW ! I just saw this thread and it looks like a great benefit to me...I got the same cowl (bare) the vertical panels behind the doors... and doors. I was going to chop for a RPU ......keep the updates coming PLEASE !
well i got some more stuff . man there is a LOT i need to learn! you see fellas i am not a mechanic. and i dont know crap about cars. so this is a big deal to me.
I saw the ford spring withe the chevy axle in earlier pictures but I didn't think you were going to use the axle. Is this somthing that has been done before? Gary
Hey Billy, Is there a reason you are using that axle instead of one that is set up to use with a transverse spring? I am concerned with the shackle angle. It is setting now where it should be when it is under load. I am in no way being critical ( I am building my first ground up project as we speak.) This is just an observation. Good looking dog, btw. -mike-
BILLY...AHH yes a 27 CHEVY. and as we say in TEXAS, your doing fine YOUNG FELLER! i know you can understand that, living in a small western town. O my goodnes a ford mill, man i love it! billy please keep us posted on your build, and thank's for saving that old hoopy from the crusher, and welcome to H.A.M.B....POP.
i am just doing what the man with 45 years experience tells me to do. p.s. yeah he's a good doggy....
we put 325 lbs. directly above that spring. j.p. and i stood on it. those shackles didnt move much. <!-- / message --> <!-- controls -->
BILLY...did you say your only 46 yrs. old. HOLLY CRAPERS man you have aged 20 yrs. sence you started this build! HA! if your not finished in a month, well your hair will be WHITE! i'am just kidding you OLD FART. after you finish the coupe, you'll need to build a WALKER just to get to the coupe! HA! call me POP...or the old FART!
Ford in a Chevy??....no problem. My son's '49 Chevy runs a 351 with no signs of rejection. Good luck with the project.
update i got the rear end all cleaned up by grinding a bunch of welds off. the bed is in position. and it is just about ready to install. the shocks for the front should be here today. unfortunately i hurt my back and the other guy hurt his leg in seperate accidents recently. sooo we are going to take a few days off from this while we heal. but i will post some more pics soon. oh yeah i went to a junkyard and found some cool gauges from an old chevy? truck <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
to get a title for this beast i am photo documenting every step of the build and making a build book with reciepts next to every component of the car. i want no questions about where did that frame come from? or where'd ya get that tranny kid? <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
