great looking 27 the stance is killer ...what did you score the tank from i need one just like that ...
Thanks! I bought mine from someone on here. It most likely came from The Hot Rod Company. http://www.thehotrodcompany.com/shopnow/show_search.asp?keyword=tank Other Alliance Venders should have them. Norton
Getting my rad and shell placement finalized. My fan is a little high, but it seems like it should work pretty well. It's not getting into the hoses at all. Norton
27KID...well i see a DIAMOND in the rough! yes SIR. you have a real GEM. now that's OLD SCHOOL! you could be the poster boy for H.A.M.B...POP.
sweeet! any pics yet of gear box location? did anybody ever id it. doesnt look like it s on there yet
Here is the box I'll be using. I was told it's an early 70's mopar unit. I've reversed it and I'll be building a hoop inside the cowl to mount it. Haven't got that far yet, haha.
I am glad that I found your post. I have a 27. It is having the body work done, in my shop. I found those curious holes on the back of the door. They were under plastic filer. What are they for? Any ideas?
Looks like you got a pretty good answer from this thread, http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=436175 Pictures of what they're talking about would be a great help. My doors look like these, http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/03/image.pl?/show/03/hamb/hamb108.jpg http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/06/image.pl?/show/06/ggkc/ggk0733.jpg Is this what yours look like? Norton
Man that is great looking project! It made me go back and look at a thread of mine i started in 06'. Where does the time go??? Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the good work! I'll have to check in on this one often.
Thanks! I just looked at the pictures from your thread in '06. Great looking project! What happened to it?? I'll be posting more in a couple of days. My rad and shell should be mounted and bolted down. Norton
Don't know what it is, but that isn't an early '70s Mopar box. The output shaft on the Mopar box is longer, the case is Aluminum, and it doesn't need to be reversed for cowl steering.
Yeah, thats just what I was told. I need to check the markings on it. But it should work out pretty well. I'm suprised you don't know what it is, haha.
I really wanted one of those, but couldn't find one around here at a reasonable price. Chris Casny's tech on his is great! The one I have I got for free. So, that is what I'm planning on using right now. Maybe I'll find something else at Ancaster or Waterdown in the spring.
No I didn't! I wish I had! If you look at the splines on mine and the ones in Chris' pictures they look very close. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=297314 I do think the box I have is mopar, just not sure on the year.
Is this what yours look like? Norton[/QUOTE] Thank you, yes that is what they look like. Do you know what side curtains look like? 2nd car has a much nicer windshield than mine, envy....
It just might be a Gm product. I have no idea. When I figure it out I'll let you guys know. Anyone else can to chime in? I haven't seen any pictures with the side curtain on. Thanks for the kind words fellas. Norton
I'm no engineer but I think you could bend two 90's in the tierod at the ends...so you could almost step it forward an inch or whatever you need. this is a terrible paint illustration..the black circles are the tierod ends.
Hello another Canadian here, Nice build! Attached is a pic of an S-10 80's manual box I have in the garage up to the 90's are the same. on a side note the Mopar boxes I have seen, do not have threaded mounting points, but it is similar to the mopar box..
Can you find any 7 or 8 digit numbers on the casting or any other part of the box? If you can find them post them or pm them to me and I may be able to find the application for you.
