HA HA. I didn't order a kit but I did order enough bends to do both sides...to my original plan.

As soon as I started mocking mine up, the plan changed and I only had half as many bends as I needed.

    It's looking great.

Here is a little side project for this car.
I have a T5 with an electronic speedo drive so I made a electronic speedo from an old clock case, the guts from a Nissan speedo from the pull-a-part and some fake dial graphics I made in photoshop.
If you really want to know how much of a geek i am, i built a microprocessor controlled adapter that lets me adjust pulses from the T5 +or- 100% in 1% increments so that I can calibrate the thing (with a GPS based speedometer in my I-phone of course)

That's fucking Boss Hoss!!! Great ingenuity and definitely should havea tech thread on it.

  8. BloodyJack. Great build. I had a 53 merc flattie back in '67 on my '41 ford coupe. It was supposed to be bronze block ? Had aluminum heads, wiend 3/4 cam wolverine pistons and 3 stomburgs. with mallory dual ing. Wish I had it now,

Its a 27 whippet that I stretched about 3.5 inches to fit a 60,s mustang radiator.
Here is a picture before I stretched it. I also had to make the bottom edge because it had been cut off

My neighbor gave me a free sheet of stainless steel so i tried my hand at engine turning and made a dash for my fake speedometer. Engine turning with a drill press and cutting stainless with a hack saw is tedious!

  18. That speedo looks great. I second the emotion for the tech. I will be up against the same problem (eventually).

So I went for a Gyro for lunch and checked out a little shop that sold antiques and found this NOS still in the box for 12 bucks.
I had already decided to trash the 60s red hose for more traditional fuel lines this weekend.
