Here is the rear drive train. All rebuilt and ready to go. 36 Lincoln Trans with 25 tooth gears, and a Pre-war Franklin QC. Same kind we run in the tank.

  4. wow you had to let go of ALOT of stuff to get that engine!

  5. Well now that's a cryin' shame.
I mean I'm going to be cryin' for a long time because you have it and I don't. That is a real score my friend. Treat it well.

You hit the grand slam home run of all time. Plus you were able to clean out your garage.

  7. I was pleasantly surprised to see this thread come back up. In about 1990, I went with a friend to LA to check out a used Donovan block for his alky dragster. We ended up in Ed's shop. When he found out that I liked 4 cylinders, I spent most of an afternoon with him talking about 4's. After a while, he took me over to the north side of the room and opened up a storage closet. He had a new Offy on a roll around cart. I've wondered what happened to that engine since his p***ing. Most of you in Socal have seen the Offy powered 29 pickup or Louie Senter's T. It's always a treat to hear it run.

Love the photo of the running gear! Should be an amazing car, when done.

A 270 wouldn't "scream" at 9 grand; it would be more like "Kablam!"

I can remember Seeing and hearing this engine in Freds XK, It was 1974/75 and Fred was a Local celebrity and machinist who was involved in offy engine development for indy cars. And that XK, if you closed your eyes you ears saw an indy car nearby, but indy is 350 miles west of here. Amazed I found this.
