272/292 Y-block question

I ***ume that a 4bbl manifold off of a 292 block will bolt on a 272 block. It seems obvious to me but I have been bitten by my ***umptions before.

 

Yes it will fit as along as it is Ford to Ford. 272-292 and 312 are the Ford Y Block sizes. The Lincolns are different.

 

Also make sure you don't have the earlier heads 1954 239 heads had the smaller ports.

 

Make sure it is the '57 model for standard carb mount. Anything earlier would be the teapot, aka, the towering inferno.

 

If you find an inferno intake just buy an adapter. When we were looking for a standard intake they are expansive and few and far between.
