Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. Forgive me if I'm not real interweb savy. Got a question for the desoto hemi guys. I'm planning on building a 276 that I recently acquired. I'm in need of a Camshaft for it. Can anyone tell me were to look? Thanks in advance
From what I have gathered, the DeSoto blanks are non existent except for one guy in California that MIGHT still have a few. Most people end up with a reground stocker. Check with TR Waters here on the HAMB or 73RR here also.
Thanks guys. I've herd of Contreras Camshaft in Cali, tried calling and got a answering machine. Left a message but never herd back.
Hover your mouse over "41hemi" avatar on the left of the page. A selection called, "Start a Conversation" should show up, click that. You can then type your personal message (PM) to 41hemi.
Just a FWIW note....if buying an old used cam be sure to give it a real close look. Many have badly worn lobes that would have to be welded before regrinding. Some regrind shops can do the repair some not. We charge $25 per lobe so it doesn't take long to eat up the value of the core. .
