First thank you allowing me to join. I have not read every post here over years but I feel like I did.

I want to give a shout out to Todd's Rods in reading PA for the opportunity to let me be a magician and surgeon on his cars. I am the master of illusion and master plastic surgeon. I am making a flat lined, rusted out T look like new, with a twist. Todd you are the tops. Can I have a applause for Todd please. Ok nuff. Ok a bit more.... ok, please be seated. I dont want the chip on his shoulder getting any bigger or I will have to widen the car for it. HUMMMM. I like the idea. A wide body T/A. any thoughts?

Lonely one night I answered a craigs list add looking for a moon lighter to work on his cars. I replied to him that if he lets me go he lost the best he will ever get. I set his pants on fire and I got a email fast. In fact the post office was here trying ti figure out how to send their mail that fast. (our secret Todd.)

So whats the point? I was asked to put a model T on a A frame. I spend countless nights researching this as I have not worked on anything this old. 32 Chevy chop top was the oldest.

Countless hours of research and many nay sayers later with maybe 1 or 2 sites/posts on the net that say they have done it. With a, I can not take no for an answer, Here I am.

I am proud to now say been there, done it. Well doing it. I am starting a y tube channel with video of the t/a conversion. The basic conversion is straight forward. You start in the back and move front. The body mounts in the rear are centered on the frame and the body. Perfect.

The remaining mounts are nothing but a few tabs welded onto the frame. But lets not get to far.

Many hours of research for panels came up empty for the upper/lower body frame/sub frame. I found A but not T. So what to do next? Operate. Like a doctor you sometimes you have to open up to be able to evaluate the cancer. Well after minutes of trying to determine a flat line, I said to my self, self, no I really did, I call myself, self, You can do anything you want to do. So I took a break and went for a soda. Todd was not in the shop so I goofed off.

I evaluated the cancer and determined that after seeing worse cars brought back to life, I kept the plug in and this is where I am at this time. I will be uploading full vids to tube. ok well, ahhhh, yea. I did not know how to use a camera. So I lost a lot of A removal that I wanted to do as a cliff notes beginner video. So let me close with where I stand today.

I name my projects. I will call this 279, 1927/1929. so the next thread will be called 279.

    Thanks Todd.... Stormy

A shout out to Eastwood in PA for the ceramic engine paint. Yea I got to load the pic of the engine. Mice were living in the engine and had 10 pounds of bird seed in the water way.
Hint. You can brush the engine paint on instead of spraying. It flows out awesome.

  2. You should read the HAMB more. Plenty of discussion of T's on A frames. Nothing unusual in that.

Apart from all the fancy talk you failed to mention what kind of T. But wide body? Yuk.

I put a 1927 Model T Coupe on a 1928-30 Model A Frame. Perfect fit. It has been done too many times.

  9. I clicked on your link and didn't find anything which looked like a Model T body on an A frame. Some of us old farts may need further instructions.

Correct. As I said I have to edit it for posting. I will check your page. I am hoping to start editing sunday or monday. I only work on this 1-2 days a week. so I am hoping to have a weekly post of progress. The disassembly, well i did not know how to use the camera. I recorded when it was off , and when it was off it recorded . Did not know on and off. LOL
