RPS: That's a roadster, pickup, sedan (ode to roadster because she's a toaster) What we have here is: A neighbors bought and boxed frame (30-31), uncles cowl (28-29), friends rear wall,(30-31 Fordor), '46 banjo rear end fitted with 9" axles and hydraulic brakes(www.hotrodworks.com/ & Frosty's Repair), Borg Warner T-10 mounted to a 1964 aluminum, stroked buick 300 (for more info: http://aluminumv8.com/). The front brakes are early Buick aluminum drums on Ford spindles(Thx Eric: http://www.riley-auto.com/, the seats came in the rusted cowl I've been kickin' the tires of since I was 8. Got a nice deal on the 32 shell from my buddies at Minnesoata Hot Rod Hardware (http://www.hotrodhardware.com/). I'll do a Mopar Muscle power sterring box to keep with the aluminum theme. I'm currently tryin' to convert the rear wishbone to the axle, meeting the rear cross member & tranny mount. I haven't bought a dropped front axle, a reversed spring and I'm a beginner on this revamped read end but... This is no bolt together hot rod, I'd also put in a plug for Bill at Speedway, and last but not least HAMBERS!! This is my passion.
Used HotRod Works' Side gears and installed 9 inch axles, and hydraulic drum brakes. Also an open drive conversion, so I can slap on an aluminum drive shaft, in accordance with the theme.
New work...that's all the pics I took. We'll have more for the GShell chop, engine build and debut. O/T Anyone goin' to Mitchell's "Corn Palace" on Sept. 22?
Guess what I'm doin' this weekend...btw that crankshaft is vintage 1963. Have fun at the Corn Palace & see ya next year!
