Just curious, are the 28/29 a/b pillars constructed of wood or metal? I'm a newbie to the A's and have lot's of questions. I use the Search all the time, however, I couldn't find anything specific to this. Thanks

O.K., how about truck, and what originally did the rear (B?) pillar of a blindback have? The photo of the rear section is in my other thread. Thinking of making the rear section into a truck back, however, wondering what to do about the pillar? I know most guys probably fab their own, and I am as willing as anyone, just ttrying to get as much info. as possible. Thanks

  4. A pillar is all steel. B pillar of my closed cab PU is wood with sheet metal wrapped about 3/4" around the outer front edge. My cabriolet B pillar is wood and capped in front with sheet metal held with finish nails.

O/T: The CHP vehicle VIN verifier for the cabriolet shooed me away, took his grinder and drill out and attached my new VIN on this small piece of sheet metal attached only by finish nails! He did not want to accept my statement that the VIN on the frame was the same as the motor and matched the registration as that was the way Henry did it back then. Sorry for the rant.
