How do I identify what year a Model A body is. I have the back of a tudor from the door latches back. I have a chance to buy a set of doors, windshield, cowl and gas tank for a couple hundred dollars but don't know how to tell if they're a match.
Look at the belt line. If it's one fairly large "square" bead, it's 28-29. If it's one medium and one small round-ish bead together, it's 30-31.
exactly what boyd who says...he belt line is thick and single one a 28/29...30/31 looks a little fancier...i was also told that a 30-31 was 4 inches wider than a 28/29...im not sure though
Belt moulding tips are correct, I think the 28-29 is smooth on the bottom quarter and door bottoms, 30-31 has a bead.
If the rear body section you have has three threaded holes in a triangular arrangement on the lower left bottom rear channel of the body it IS a 28-early 29 for sure as NO 30-31 had this drum taillamp bracket installation setup. But the later 29s did not have this either so you'll have to go by the flat beads for 28-29.
Thanks everyone. That should help when purchasing future parts. Your information tells me mine is a 30-31.
