Thank you sir! Got the sub rails trimmed up and as much as I hated to do it, I had to cut the firewall. After all the measuring and moving crossmember forward 1.5"'s and setting the fan about 1" from radiator and 3/8" from the crank pully. Sucks but it had to happen.
Find me another 16x5 and she'll be rolling proper.... Shits getting tight down here real quick didn't have to get to crazy cutting stuff back here thankfully Pedals and steering box will hopefully get done this week
Whoah! 32 roof on an A, I likey. If I may offer advise- keep a close eye on those Hurst tires, mine started to separate and I have heard many horror stories in the past two years. Neat coupe, can't wait to see it
Thanks man, yes the hurst tires are garbage. I have different wheels and tires that are going on it. 7.50's and 5.00's.
Picking away at the metal work this week, slowly but surely. Threw some borrowed wheels/tires on the front for a little motivation. It will sit a couple inches higher in the back with the 7.50's still.
Roof started to take shape this weekend. My father came down to visit, that was a huge help taking the roof on and off a hundred times. Still a lot of work ahead but feels good to get this roof fiasco underway.
Thanks, I wish I could have found a 28-9 roof to just bolt on but this was my next best option since I don't have any sheet metal shaping tools to make the panels myself.
Got the rest of the rear window tacked in. I think it's a little on the tall side but thats maybe why I like it more?
Rolled her out to give the garage a good cleaning. Was nice to stand back 20-30' to see how she looks. I'm digging the proportions, think it's gonna work out ok. Tons of welding left to do but getting there
Took a break from my car yesterday day to put ol boy Willy's new frame together. After a slight head on collision with an elderly lady that crossed the yellows on him, he bit the bullet and is gonna be on 32 style rails now with a shiny paint job. We got a lot done in a day so far, hopefully build the X-member next weekend. Before on a box model A style with bogus front end. This is how we are setting it up now.
Very nice work, etc. I sure wish I could find a body like that to build. All I can find are wrecks and rust buckets or expensive/restored cars that I wouldn't want to tear down and build back.
We got the X member made up and 40 pedals mounted. Needs a notch under the clutch pedal but other then that it should work ok.
Getting the mounts in Reused old trans cross member but had to modify from the old frame. Motor mounts were made from a 40 front crossmember.
