G***er John, it is a true Chevy II block. I took it out the car in Pasadena and still have it, here in Alabama. The crank is another matter. I have my eye on a steelie out of a '61 small journal. I also have my eyes on another Chevy II block that was bored. No details yet. I do a lot of trading. 9.5:1 seems a little high for the **** gas I see at the pumps, now. I have to think of prices, too. Regular with water injection might help with that compression but I was thinking less. I've run some 301's on the street with as much as 10.5:1 but had to use high test. I like the suggestion for the 500 cfm Holley, thanks for that. Maybe a trick deuce intake from one of the round track wizards would help? Thanks for the suggestions.
