Still baffles me how we can't seem to differentiate between how carburators work and how constant flow mechanical fuel injection works...

That looks like it has a bar tying all 4 throttle shafts together. Is it just a piece of bar stock with 4 holes drilled into it? Any close up pics of it's something special?

    Thank you

Chris, that's what I was thinking of in post #10. Yes, basically a bar with four holes in it.

I made this one out of 1/4" bar stock with holes and bushings in it. without it there is a ton of movement on the extended ones before the throttle plates open

Since we are talking about throttle linkage, here's the Eelco progressive throttle arms for my olds, and 3/8 Wittek thumb screw clamps. It was "fun" rounding up the clamps, right HB32?;):D

Hi there Chris, yeah those old Mallory black flat top caps sure are cool!!! I have one two , but mines on a Mallory destined for a 392 Hemi motor. I also have in the shed a genuine HURST front mount engine plate, a bit rusty it came out of a 40's chev with 265 Chev engine, so many projects, so little money!
Your project is very cool, good to see Rodders doing things right on! Keep up the good work! I'm trying to keep the Firedome Light burning bright! PTDC0166.JPG PTDC0167.JPG PTDC0169.JPG PTDC0166.JPG PTDC0167.JPG PTDC0169.JPG

It may not be a 40 but at least you'll have a coupe with an actual back seat.

Can't wait to see this car come together, I'm sure it's going to be awesome.

Hey thanks. I have had a couple chances to buy a 40 coupe...but the back seat thing always gets me. I have a small child and another on the way, and the whole purpose of this car is a good family truckster but still something cool. I know you can get jumpers in a 40, but these cars are just bigger, roomier and cheaper. I tell guys "it's not the coolest car I own but something we can take to cruise night as a family and be proud of"

That's the reason I sold my roadster and bought a 40 Ford sedan, I wanted something that I could use with the whole family. Eventually I'll finish my 32 sedan and have a hot rod with a back seat and life will be even better than it is now.

I'm sure you've seen Tom Branch's coupe on IG. That car is the cat's balls.

Anyone have one of these intakes to sell? If so, shoot me a PM.
