So I'm building a nice little 283 to go back into my soon to be daily driver.

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=749243&highlight=reacher

I'm going to run early Corvette valve covers on it, with a vent tube at the front of the intake. I know by 64 that road draft tubes were no longer in use, not that I particularly want one any way, but I need to find a way to put a PCV valve where the tube would have come out of the back of the block. I'm not sure how GM set it up.

What I'm picturing is a freeze plug installed in that hole with a br*** fitting installed into it, then an inline PCV. I'm sure there is a better way.

    Suggestions?

My 67 El camino had a 283 with a PCV system like this. The Chevelle supply houses have all the fittings.

That will work fine. In case you have the intake off, it would be best to keep the oil separator that's in the valley inside the engine.

What you describe and Tommys photo is about how I did mine.

    1. I welded a steel 3/8 steel pipe coupler in a freeze plug - screwed in a br*** 90 …..
    2. Breather cap on the fill tube to let air in

A guy could run a hose from the fill tube to the air filter for cleaner air in
