Hot Rods 289 Firing Order Wacky?

Not only Fords. We are racing some SBCs and there are two firing orders on them , also.

But not real common, was a different camshaft for a racing application, I forget the number sequence, but not normally used. I don’t think GM developed it though, but could be wrong.

 

Yep, I think they called it the 5-7 cam. We had at least one race car that had that cam.
