Needs some input fellerz. It says this should fit on model A perches but I’m just coming up way too short. Do I need to take this spring apart to stretch it out in order for my shackles to reach the perches? Any input is much appreciated.

The RC springs are for Narrowed perches 46 1/2" center to center. The R springs are reverse eye 48 1/2" c to c perch width which I believe is stock. I used the narrow width so I'd have room for the backs of the brake cylinders.

This spring came with a box of parts for the roadster I’m building, how would you get narrow perches on a model A? Weld new perches on rear end? Thanks for the reply phil.

I put a bronco 9 inch rear end in my model A and welded the perches in at 46 1/2". I'm pretty sure I bought new ones from Pete and jakes but I think there available elsewhere.

  5. Measure what you have for perch width and report back. The spring will need to be stretched in order to install it regardless but if you have stock spec perch widths then that particular spring will not work.

Yea I’m needing 5 more inches or so of stretch. I think the PO bought the wrong spring for his future build. I’m just going to use the original model A spring and maybe take a leaf or two out.
