Projects 29 A coupe build

Ok so I have been putting this off for a while and now I guess it's time to start. I have been hunting for a coupe for a while and recently made a drive to meet Luke, a fellow hamber (Ironford), in Chicago, IL. I bought most of a 29 coupe body from him that I am starting to build. I am aiming for something like this:

This is my frame I have started to work on.

Chevelle 12 bolt with a ladder bar set up. Still needs gussets and boxing.

I have two engines I can use, either a 454 big block with a th400 or a 63 401 nail head out of a wild cat. The 454 is a runner with only 40,000 miles and the nail head possibly needs a rebuild.

Trying to get advice, I'd like to use the nail head. The problem is it was one of those running when parked deals. I can't turn it over with a breaker bar. It's still full of oil, tried soaking cylinders with mystery oil. I've read some where that the valves will stick if they sit for a long period of time and that I should try loosening the rockers before trying to turn it over, does that sound right?

You could take the valve covers off and watch ,i have a dummy disy that i use to prime any engine that has been sitting before you turn it i would bring up oil pressure,you could also take off the rocker assebmly and take a brass hamer to the valves to see if there are free a tap on each one will tell you if there stuck. good luck

Bought 29 coupe quarter windows today from a fellow hamber, he should be shipping them out soon. I should have a good update tomorrow, I'm actually gonna get to work on it!

Can any one tell me what a 29 coupe body ways complete? And the weight of a boxed chassis roughly?

I like the saddle but I'm not sure it fits the build style...

 

We have horses, saddle has nothing to do with car lol
