Have been searching the internet for pictures and magazine covers for about 2 years looking for a connection to my car. Some of you may remember I bought this car from a barn a while back. Several years ago I was told this car was in a magazine or on the cover of a car magazine, back in the day. I have been guessing it would have been in the late 50's no later than the early 60's. The plate and inspection sticker are 1963 and I am guessing was parked around the same time. I have been searching and thought I would give it a shot as many of you may have many magazines from this time period. I was never able to get the name of the magazine and I am looking for some help. The car is like it was setup, Olds 303, Red/maroon, gold wire wheels, 3-97's. May have had a hood and front fenders. The small adjustable bungs are on the brake backing plates. The backing plates and front steering were all chromed. Any help is greatly appreciated...

That looks familiar, I don't remember it as a feature car, but I do think I remember it from a single shot in a mag. Strikes me that it is one of the east coast mags though. I don't have a huge collection of those... But I'll look this afternoon.

Not that I know of. I have not requested info from Rodders J. Do you have the magazine volume or number?

Sorry to say, I dug through my extensive collection last night, and the image that I thought it was, wasn't. When I found it, I thought that you might have had the ROD & CUSTOM cover car from May '54, but it isn't. It was the right color, and a few things like where the coil and voltage regulator are on the firewall, headlights, etc. are right on, but things like the fender holes still in the frame, slightly different shaped rear fenders and such indicate that it's not. Sorry I couldn't help.

Thanks for trying. Sent a pm.
Anyone have any ideas where to look or the names of all of the old car publications?

I will get a e-mail out to you tomorrow, just running out the door to an event tonight. As far as a listing of all the different magazines, The last issue of HOT ROD DELUXE had a pretty good run down on them. I have all the west coast mags back to the first HOT ROD, But I'm short on the Eastie stuff. I still can see a picture in my minds eye in something with a red/maroon '29 on '32 rails and gold wheels somewhere. I just can't find it on paper.

I am beyond lucky to have this. Noticed your pic and thought you would appreciate a few of my favorite photos I took of the car.
