That is how my Vicky door tops looked before they were sent as doner parts.

Bought a 1931 Vicky door! Perfect top, I'm so happy. Wrapped it in a shipping blanket, folded the back seat forward and put it in the trunk of Debbie's car, and she didn't say a thing about it. Sandpaper time tomorrow. DSCF8332.JPG DSCF8334.JPG DSCF8337.JPG

Spent a few hours cleaning the top of the door that will become the new top of the Fordor door, really nice metal, same as the door. I think the Victoria was considered more of a Deluxe body, the spot welds are leaded in on the inner door areas.

Years from now when the doors open and close and the top chop is finished I may consider channeling it.

Due to an unrelated household screwup I had to move a bunch of stuff in the basement. Stuff I had no reason to move before. FOUND THE BATTERY CHARGER for the Milwaukee saw!!!! That was almost a three month long search. Should be cutting the door up in a few weeks now.

Getting closer. That green fixture shows how the finished window opening will look. There are a lot of things to consider before the Vicky door gets cut to fit.

This is going to work out just fine. I have the luxury of having a rough Vick door top to make the test cuts to check fitment. Reveals match well. Cutting the good top is next.

Planning tonight's cuts, if I knew what I was doing this would go quicker, having these photos will help make the cuts to the passenger side go quicker.

The Victoria top is now in three pieces. Front piece is about six inches long and I drilled out the spot welds to make it two pieces so it can be cut to match the taper of the larger piece. Amazing when you study the pieces and think about all the steps to bend two pieces of metal into those shapes. Still having a good time, think I've worked on it for seven evenings in a row.

That is how I left things last night, lots of inner parts cutting, project is going so well I've decided to sell the T Speedster project. More space, less things to think about. DSCF2794.JPG

Got motivated last night and made the important cut to the Victoria door top, cutting the inside top tapered piece is next. Looks like this is going to work. DSCF4545.JPG DSCF4546.JPG DSCF4548.JPG DSCF4549.JPG DSCF4551.JPG

Making all the tiny pieces to made the jambs match the original look is time consuming, then when you find out you made it wrong you just start over. Still happy with the vision, took things outside for some spot welding. DSCF4690.JPG DSCF4691.JPG DSCF4692.JPG DSCF4693.JPG DSCF4694.JPG DSCF4696.JPG

Got a hood coming in from Canada at Hershey. Looking for Victoria window trim. Stop by C4J39-42 and say hello. you can leave heavy stuff there for the day. See you there, Bob

The Auburn hood search took four years, got it delivered to Hershey. Opened it yesterday and got both top panels striped to bare metal/primer within an hour with a razor blade. Pulling the pins is taking a while, one more to go. Cleaning things to bare metal and lots of Kroil & PB Blaster worked wonders. Can't do anything with the hood until the chassis lets me know the body / grill shell length.. I like the new '32 Rails that Brookville has now, my back door neighbors at Hershey. The library had a book sale last day is $5.00 per bag============ That's $110.00 worth of books. Needs to turn into a Steadfast '32 Ford/ Model A subrail kickup kit.

Bob, when I saw that hood I thought of the Inspiration I did for you...I couldn't recall if I incorporated that bead...I did...did you get the sides too?

Great progress you're making...I enjoy seeing Hank too...he makes me chuckle with that look he makes...

Anyways I'll post this Inspiration here...not sure I did or not...

I'm also not sure if I mentioned that if you right clic save that to a USB stick, take it to Staples or Wally World Photo Lab and make a poster and pin up on the wall say 20"× 25"....it might help inspire and assist at this point in the game...

Thanks Stogy, I did get the sides, not sure if I'll use them. For now I'll just sand the tops and put them away, length and shape will get determined once there is a frame to hold all the parts together. Left rear door is the next major piece to work on.
