It is kind of funny how you can walk buy stuff and not really notice it, post #140 with the Inspector and his new wheels is a good example. All that s**** in the background did get s****ped the next day, and I put $30.00 in his ch***is fund, so far he has a free rolling ch***is at four. Bob

Thanks brigrat, just took a tour of Chris's website. Someday I'll have him to do an updated sketch, Areo disks on '16 inch Ford wires, and exposed '32 rails are the major changes. Project is stalled for lack of money, I could send the body shell out and get it blasted, epoxy primer is on the shelf. Once primed I need to buy the A frame to '32 frame subrails from Steadfast in Ohio. Once I have spent the money on the subrails I need to mock up my original '32 rails that are part of the Roadster build so I know were everything goes and the rear wheels are centered in the fender wells. Once the body framework is solid and the doors are set the cowl and rear body section can be fit. Someday when all four doors close like a bank vault door I'll lay out the top chop cut lines. Saw my old '29 Tudor last month, the chop still looked good to me, but the guy that Street Rodded the project, turned it into something so far away from what I planned I don't think I should post a photo of it. This may turn out to be the best $134.00 I've ever spent, new in the box sheetrock lift. I can install the four sheets on the ceiling that have been in the garage for months. With them out of the way the back wall an be rebuilt and that double window installed. I might be able to move in there. Bob

That's the 1912 Model T still looks good with the 1950 restoration it got just before the Glidden Tour that year. It was the very first old car I was given a ride in, finally got to buy it in 1983. Had to jack it up to get the leg of the rock jack under it. It will get rolled around for sheet three later today. Bob

That is a 1931 that Dad had, last time it ran was 1983, has a B engine with an aluminum head. Rolled the T forward, that hasn't been on the road in 17 years. Should have the other sheets up tomorrow, then it is onto the wall and window. It was a good day today. Bob

Spent four hours in the garage yesterday, added two wheels and hubcaps to the parts pile today. Bob

Sorry for late reply! I do not know what happened to the A or Don! Funny just talking about him today with the wife at the oxford car show. I should try and find him.

Here are some shots of it.

Builds were quite different back then! I laugh at some stuff but it was dependable and fast.

 

The 6th photo down is the one I have saved. I actually really like some of the cars from that era, just before the resto rods started pushing everything else aside. A lot of the cars that were around at that time were cars that had been built 10-15 years before, and got updated with wheels tires and paint.

 

Major moves in the garage today, got enough junk moved to get the Steelback body out, and the 1912 T outside for the first time since 2012. Grand kids got to sit in for the first time. Got to have it up and running in two weeks. Steelback is now in the corner were the T was, should allow easier work space. Bob

CSRA Swap Meet today was the last of the 2016 season, and a good one, added a gas tank and some rear bumper bracket parts to the pile. Not bad for a total of $20.00, really glad to find a shot tank, I only need the firewall and hood rest area. Bob

 

Always good to find what you want/need at a swap meet. JW

 

Got the firewall section cut off the tank and put in place, drilling the holes in the front edge is next. If you ever run across a 28-29 tank with holes along the hood rest area is was once in a Fordor. [/ATTACH]

 

Major ba*****t cleanup underway, trying to get the work area organized. Almost tossed a box of Christmas cookie tins but heard one rattle, it was full of cowl hardware, and this gem, an original rear hood rod bracket. Having all the major parts on rollers allows for easy storage with stuff stacked in a corner out of the way.

Yes, That Starrett Tool display case has been sitting in the ba*****t for 34 years, finally going to place it on the wall and fill it with automotive goodies. Bob

That is a Soap Box Derby car I built for my oldest daughter back in the 1990's. Bob

Sure, and I have a test pilot that is almost 5 years old,and a downhill that starts in front of my house. Have to install some foot blocks on the brake pedal first. Bob
