your humbleness is great Bass. Its inspiring to hear its just learned through practice. Makes me excited to get my welder next week. I will have a MIG but either way Ill be busting out some "ART" so I can practice welding.. We have so much metal art around town, just pieces welded together and placed on a cement pad in a park.

great build, its amazing to see what the mind can achieve

Yes sir..that is the ultimate goal for the roadster. My buddy Michael (that came up to the Pile-up with me last year) and I are planning on driving it up from Texas to the show this year.

If I can keep plugging along on it a few hours here and a few hours there, I think I can make it happen.

So are you using the 4130 or just mild steel Brian? Also is that 7/8" tubing?

Just mild steel. I don't think there's a whole lot of advantage in using the chrome moly on a hot rod. Race car yes, hot rod no.

The ladder bars are 7/8" OD, .156 wall. It's commonly called ' 5/8" tap tube.' Part number 001-2433-1 through lefthander.

Thanks again for the kind words guys.

Well, since you asked..no it's not. It is a 3 speed though.

I made the upper rear shock mounts today. I thought about making them mount to where the bolt was in double-shear, but I decided it really wasn't necessary. Ford mounted shocks with the bolt in single-shear forever, and there are still cars being made today without the shock bolts in double-shear.

For the lowers I'm modifying some '41 Ford lower shock mounts to weld to the axle housing.

Hey, thanks for the plug! Yep, we got em.

That is really looking fantastic Brian. I love your detail work. Each car you build is that much cooler than the previous one.

    Thanks Chad!

Would you happen to have a picture of what your Chevy header flanges look like? I need something for small primaries, something like 1.5 or 1.625 primaries. I think 1.75 is going to be too big.

Dude, I'm coming down there so I can learn from you. You're a ruler! I'm stoked that you're going to come up to the Pile Up and DRIVE it! Helen Wheels should be there too. We've been jamming on it.

I can cut you a set of SBC flanges for either one you want, 1.5 or 1.625. Just let me know.
